National Discounts to Honor Veterans on Veterans Day

On November 11, 2014 civilians and servicemembers across the nation will join in honoring our veterans and military families who have given of their time and safety to keep our country safe. Veterans Day is a day of honor and tribute paid to the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, and several national and local businesses are joining in that tribute with free offers and discounts for veterans and their families.

Below is a list of national and regional businesses that offer discounts or special deals for Veterans Day. Please check with your local establishment to see if they are participating in the promotion before seeking to claim a discount or deal. Most of these discounts require a military I.D. or proof of service.

Restaurants

Applebee’s – Veterans and active duty servicemembers may choose a free meal from their special Veterans Menu on November 11.

Bob Evans – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive all-you-can-eat pancakes on November 11.

Boston Market – Show your military ID for a free individual dessert with meal purchase on November 11.

Carrabba’s – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free appetizer from November 8 to 11.

Chuck E. Cheese’s – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive 20 free play tokens from November 9 through 15.

Cracker Barrel – Veterans receive a free slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake during lunch and dinner on November 11.

Denny’s – All military personnel receive a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast on November 11 from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. at participating locations.

Friendly’s – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free meal from a special Veterans Menu all day on November 11.

Golden Corral – The annual Military Appreciation Monday will take place on November 17 where veterans, military retirees, active duty, National Guard and Reserves receive a free buffet meal from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hooters – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free meal up to a $10.99 value with purchase of a beverage on November 11.

IHOP – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive free Red, White and Blue Pancakes on November 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

LongHorn Steakhouse – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free Texas Tonion appetizer and non-alcoholic beverage from a special Veterans Menu on November 11.

Olive Garden – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free meal from a special Veterans Menu on November 11.

Outback Steakhouse – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free Bloomin’ Onion appetizer and a beverage on November 11. Also from November 12 through December 31, active and former servicemembers receive 15 percent off their meals.

Red Lobster – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free appetizer from a special Veterans Menu on November 10 and 11.

Red Robin – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free Red’s Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on November 11.

Ruby Tuesday – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free appetizer on November 11.

Starbucks – Veterans and active duty servicemembers and their spouses receive a free tall brewed coffee on November 11.

TGI Fridays – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive a free lunch from a special Veterans Menu on November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Travel & Retail Discounts

24 Hour Fitness – Servicemembers receive a free weekend of facility access from November 8 – 11.

Barnes and Noble – Veterans and active duty servicemembers and their families receive a 15 percent discount on all Barnes and Noble devices on November 11.

Bass Pro Shops – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive 10 percent off regularly priced merchandise on November 11.

Bed Bath and Beyond – Veterans and active duty servicemembers (including Reserves and National Guard) and their spouses receive 20 percent off their entire purchase November 8 to 11.

Busch Gardens – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive 50 percent off single-day admission tickets through November 11.

Carmike Cinemas – Show your military ID and receive a free small popcorn with ticket purchase for any shows on November 11.

Dell – Veterans and active duty servicemembers receive an extra 15 percent off PC and Tablet purchases on November 11.

Great Clips – Any customers who come in for a service receive a free haircut card to give to a veteran. The card is redeemable until December 31, or veterans may come into any Great Clips store for a free haircut on November 11.

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores – Veterans and active duty servicemembers and their families receive 20 percent off their total purchase November 7 through 11.

Red Roof Inns – All locations offer 15% off stays in the month of November to veterans and active duty servicemembers and their families.

Many federal programs are also honoring veterans with special discounts.  Veterans receive free access to over 100 National Parks with entrance fees on November 11, and military base commissaries will have special in-store sales with high-value coupons and other discounts.
