New Drug Treatments for Multiple Sclerosis

Posted on February 16, 2016 by Disability Help Group

New medical studies show that two emerging drug treatments for multiple sclerosis have a positive impact on reducing flare-ups of multiple sclerosis symptoms.

Doctors said the two new drugs are taken in tablet form, as opposed to the standard treatment, which involves routine injections of the multiple sclerosis treatment.

Patients responded quite well to one of the treatments, though there is a potential of very serious side effects with the new drugs. Researchers said that several people involved in the study contracted serious, and even fatal, infections during the course of treatment.

Though it is always promising to learn of new treatments for multiple sclerosis, the fact remains that those who suffer from multiple sclerosis often are faced with significant medical and financial challenges.

Common symptoms of multiple sclerosis include:

  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Pain
  • Tremors
  • Difficulty speaking

These health afflictions can make it difficult for someone with multiple sclerosis to find work and generate income to support themselves and their families.
