Social Security Administration Announces 2015 Benefit Payment Schedule

Posted on February 12, 2016 by Disability Help Group

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has released the benefit payment calendar for the year 2015. The calendar indicates the date each month when benefit recipients can expect to receive their monthly payment in their account. The disbursement dates are the same whether you elect to receive a direct deposit to your personal bank account or if you have your benefit added to a Direct Express account card.

In 2015, Social Security disability (SSDI) and retirement benefits are paid as follows:

  • Beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th day of their birth month will have their benefits paid on the second Wednesday of each month.
  • Beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th day of their birth month will have their benefits paid on the third Wednesday of each month.
  • Beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st day of their birth month will have their benefits paid on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits are paid on a different schedule. SSI benefits are paid on the following dates in 2015:

  • Friday, January 30;
  • Friday, February 27;
  • Wednesday, April 1;
  • Friday, May 1;
  • Monday, June 1;
  • Wednesday, July 1;
  • Friday, July 31;
  • Tuesday, September 1;
  • Thursday, October 1;
  • Friday, October 30;
  • Tuesday, December 1; and
  • Thursday, December 31.

Beneficiaries who collect both Social Security benefits (retirement or disability) and SSI benefits, as well as those who began collecting benefits prior to May 1997, will receive their monthly payment on the following dates:

  • Friday, January 2;
  • Tuesday, February 3;
  • Tuesday, March 3;
  • Friday, April 3;
  • Friday, May 1;
  • Wednesday, June 3;
  • Thursday, July 2;
  • Monday, August 3;
  • Thursday, September 3;
  • Friday, October 2;
  • Tuesday, November 3; and
  • Thursday, December 3.

Your monthly disability benefit payments may stop at any time if the Social Security Administration finds cause to terminate your benefits. This action is typically due to an increase in your monthly earnings from working or failure to provide proof of your ongoing disabling condition.
