Veteran-Owned Home Loan Company Protecting Military Families

Through funding provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), veterans and their families can get special consideration when applying for home loans. Unfortunately, many lenders have been found to use predatory or fraudulent practices with these veterans, often leaving them with damaged credit or homeless. To help combat the nearly one million cases of VA loan fraud from 10 banks that have been reported, a new company, run by an Iraq War veteran, is organizing a network of safe lenders and veteran non-profits.

The collaboration, VA Loan Captain Inc. was launched in the beginning of 2012 by Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran Grant Moon. The initiative brings together approved affiliate lenders and several VA organizations, such as the Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing, Freedom Veterans of America, and the VFW Foundation. The lenders benefit from the distinction of being approved as a safe lender for veterans and in turn make a $200 charitable donation to one of the non-profits for every loan closed.

The company also directly supports the veterans and their families by helping them secure competitive interest rates with their list of lenders, as well as protecting them from lenders that use less ethical means for home loans.

VA home loans are just one of the many resources available to veterans and disabled veterans who are approved for veterans’ disability benefits. If you are a veteran who has been denied disability compensation or have not yet applied for benefits from the VA, a South Florida disability representative from Disability Help Group is ready to help.
