On Sunday, November 11 the nation celebrates Veterans Day 2012. Discounts, freebies, and special events are common on this weekend to help honor the veterans that have served to protect our country.

Many national businesses are offering free or special deal events for military veterans and their families. Here are a few of the Veterans Day 2012 discounts you may be able to enjoy:

Most of these special Veterans Day 2012 discounts and deals require a valid military or veteran’s ID to claim.

There are also many local events honoring veterans. Many communities hold Veterans Day parades on this weekend and all National Parks are open for free admission for everyone all weekend long. Several local businesses such as barber shops, oil and lube centers, and car washes often offer free services to veterans on Veterans Day, as do many local restaurants.

No matter your role – veteran, active duty, military family, or citizen – Veterans Day is a day for honoring all the veterans who have helped keep our nation free. Take this day to remind our veterans how much they mean to us!
