Increasing the Odds: Tip #1 – Follow Your Doctor’s Orders

The representatives at Disability Help Group understand that while it may be difficult to stay on top of your prescribed medications – whether it’s because you can’t afford to buy them or you don’t like the way they make you feel – you should try your hardest to stay compliant with your doctor’s orders. Your compliance may affect how your impairments are viewed by the Social Security’s Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) hearing your disability case.

Often times, an ALJ will deny a claim in which a claimant did not comply with the medication that was prescribed. The fact that the claimant had no means by which to obtain their medication is generally irrelevant to an ALJ.
